Pori Woodworking Company is the Wood Industry Company of the Year 2025

Porin Puukaluste Oy, founded in 1980, has been selected as the Wood Industry Company of the Year 2025. The award was presented in May at the annual meeting of the Finnish Wood Industry Association in Jyväskylä.

The selection criteria for the award to Pori Woodworking were the company's good reputation and recognition, as well as its financially profitable business. The company's story is a great example of Finnish long-term carpentry, entrepreneurship and growth.

What started as a small workshop manufacturing custom-made fixed furniture for public spaces has expanded to international locations. Special furniture has been delivered to ships operating all over the world, even luxury cruise ships. Quality, delivery reliability and collaboration have been the cornerstones of success.

The company's growth has been driven by an ambitious strategy, technology and production development, and above all, a skilled and committed workforce. In 2023, the story took on a new chapter when the company made a significant acquisition and acquired its competitor's marine equipment business. With the acquisition, production will now continue in two cities, Pori and Rauma. The number of employees has increased to 37 professionals, and the total capacity has increased significantly.

The Wood Industry Company of the Year award is granted by the Wood Industry Association, which is Finland's leading contracting party to collective agreements for the log house and carpentry industries, and the Finnish Federation of Enterprises and an association member of the Wood Products Industry Association. The association has approximately 270 member companies and the members' combined turnover is approximately 1,3 billion euros.
