Forest planting jobs are available in a total of 16 locations in June. The duration of the employment contracts is four weeks.
“We want to offer young people a positive and encouraging first contact with working life. Forest planting is the first paid job for many, and at the same time it is a concrete way to participate in sustainable forest management,” says Human Resources Manager Maritta Uutela.
Metsä Group also hires young people under the age of 18 as “Experience the working world and earn money” trainees at its production plants. The duration of the traineeships is two weeks. Trainees are hired in the following locations: Joutseno, Lohja, Mänttä, Punkaharju, Renko, Simpele and Äänekoski.
The internship offers young people the opportunity to get to know the industrial work environment and various work tasks safely under adult supervision. Students aged 16 or over in comprehensive school, tenth graders, upper secondary school students, and young people participating in preparatory training can apply for the internship.
“The Get to Know Working Life and Earning internship is an important step towards working life for many young people. It is important to us that young people get a positive experience, learn the rules of the game in working life and feel welcome as part of the work community”, recruitment manager Iida Lehtisalo says.
All summer jobs for minors take into account the age, legislation and safety of the young people. The tasks are designed to be suitable for young people, and orientation and guidance play a key role. Applicants are not expected to have previous work experience, but a cheerful attitude and good physical condition are required.
