Anders Portin appointed Chairman of the PEFC Finland Board

The PEFC Finland autumn meeting elected a forester, Master of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences, on November 28, 2025. Anders Portin as the new chairman of the association's board for the period 2026-2027. Portin has very diverse and strong experience in the Finnish forest sector and various social responsibilities. Recently, he has served as the forest ombudsman for SLC and as a special assistant to ministers Thomas Blomqvist and Sandra Bergqvist. During his extensive career, Portin has previously worked, among other things, as head of a unit at the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, as director of forest and environmental affairs at the Finnish Forest Industries Association, as a leading expert at the consulting company Indufor, and as executive director of the Finnish Forest Association.

The predecessor of the gate is a Master of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences. Kimmo Tiilikaista served as the Chairman of the Board of PEFC Finland for two terms in 2021–2025. “PEFC certification has a broad impact in Finnish commercial forests and is an important tool in promoting sustainable practices. I am delighted to serve as the Chairman of the Board of PEFC Finland and look forward to working with different actors on responsible forest management,” says Anders Portin.

Portini's two-year term begins on January 1, 2026.
